Tasting notes from the brewer: A bitter-sweet premium cider, Fog City is naturally engineered from our gathered blend of apples and pears. Its distinct cloudiness creates the unmatched body and fullness of flavour that earned its name.

"How do you like them apples?"

With the plethora of sickly-sweet ciders flooding the market it’s refreshing (pardon the pun) to try something that has more going on than sugar alone. Fog City has a crisp, almost citrusy flavour up front with a nice dry finish. More apple than pear for me, I reckon this would be a good one for an afternoon beer garden session.

Would I buy it again?
Yes, for sure.

"Gimme Gimme."

I have to admit that I'm a big fan of cider so I was pretty keen to give this one a whirl and I wasn't disappointed. The pears and apples combine beautifully (without being too sweet) to make Fog City a place I want to live in. The refreshing nature of cider lends itself well to a long summer session and this one will definitely be making its way into my fridge as the warmer months arrive.

Would I buy it again?
100%

"Cloudy with a chance of yum."

I was once a big fan of ciders... but then that thing where your tastes begin to change at a certain time in your life and things you liked, you no longer, and things you didn't, you now do. Cider, unfortunately fell into the first category purely because of the sweet factor. Fog City is more of a dry drop though and tames the sugar content by allowing the natural apple and pear flavours to shine through.

I'd happily drink a couple of these bad boys on a balmy night in summer in a beer garden or just at a BBQ with the boys.

Would I buy it again?
I wouldn't go out of my way to buy cider of any description, but if the craving kicked in, I'd grab a bottle or two.

“Harmless fun.”

I will admit that I enjoy a cider – but I’m very picky on which. Magners on ice, for example, is great. Bulmers is pretty good, too.

My biggest issue with most of the commercial ciders on the market today is that they’re too damn sweet. It’s as if the brewer doesn’t trust the flavour of the fruit and relies on sugar to flesh out the flavours.

Fog City doesn’t fall into that category. Being a mix between apple and pear cider (i.e. a ‘mutt’) makes this brew closer to a dry cider, which I like. That said, to me pear cider is just wrong. In fact, pears are pretty gross on their own. So I’m not 100% sold on this cider.

Would I buy it again?
If the stores ran out of Magners and Bulmers then this would be suffice.
