Blue Lagoon

0

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, this isn’t an illusion; the water really is that blue here. Iceland’s Blue Lagoon is a meeting of fresh and saltwater that contains silica, algae and minerals. The iridescent colour is derived from the silica and the way it reflects when exposed to direct sunlight. Visitors to the lagoon do so, not only because of the picturesque nature of the place, but because of the many healing benefits the geothermal water has on the human body. The water’s temperature averages 37-39°C and is bathed in by thousands of people each year. So, if you’re a fan of hot springs, jacuzzis, amazing scenery and fancy a visit to a place you’ve never been before, why not add the Blue Lagoon to your holiday bucket list.
