New Balance introduces a new silhouette: the 237

New Balance has launched the 237 silhouette, a modern tribute to the heritage models from the brand’s archives.

The 237 is a tribute to signature New Balance shoes from the 1970s and represents the next evolution of retro modern footwear design, a versatile shoe with even greater wearability that nods to the past but belongs to the now.

Building on its throwback design, the outside is derived from the original Comp 100 with the dimensioned scaled up to add interest. The upper is constructed from the classic 70s combination of suede and nylon.

“The design of the 237 consists of details from retro running models in our archive and twists them creating a trend-forward aesthetic,” New Balance 237 designer Charlotte Lee says.

“The timeless design of the 237 has a prominent heritage 70s design visual while still delivering a versatile model that can be worn with anything.”

The stitched and oversized N logo further nods to the 327 and creates a sense of nostalgia. Additional styles will be released throughout 2021 in a mix of colorways.

The shoes are available in both men’s and women’s on the New Balance Australia website, Platypus Shoes and it will be on The ICONIC in March this year.
