0

When you’re considering places for your next adventure holiday, it’s probable that Slovenia isn’t one of the first destinations that make it onto your list. But the country is home to some of the most impressive cave systems in the world, so if spelunking is your bag – this could be the place to go.

There are over 8,000 cave systems spread throughout the country. Many are among the most spectacular it the word, and are flanked by ancient castles to sweeten the deal. Postojna cave is the most famous and has a small train running through it – which is pretty incredible –but for a real adventure there are some spectacular examples just off the beaten path.
